The player’s dribbling direction will be driven by their footedness and personal preference. No specific instruction will be given to the player.
Positive Feedback
- Player will be free to decide their preferred approach.
Negative Feedback
- Could benefit more from a tailored strategy.
Cut Inside With Ball
Ask the player to dribble into central areas when they receive the ball, driving inside their opponent and towards goal.
Positive Feedback
- Most direct route to goal.
- Moving closer towards teammates in central areas.
Negative Feedback
- Moving into a more congested area of the pitch.
- Doesn’t get behind the opposition defence as much.
Run Wide With Ball
Ask the player to dribble into wide areas with the ball when possible, in an attempt to stretch the opposition.
Positive Feedback
- Stretches the opposition defence.
- Running into open spaces.
Negative Feedback
- Moving further away from teammates in central areas.
- Easier to get pinned against the sidelines.
